My husband and I were exploring a deserted farm house when we discovered a large heap of magazines and newspapers from the Victorian era. We salvaged what we could from the pile and took our treasures home to study. I found myself drawn to the advertisements. They seemed so silly, but the more I read, the more I realized we are still being told to desire the same things from 100 years ago.
