This sketchbook is part of the 1001 Black Men project, an online sketchbook I started in July of 2010. My goal is to complete 1001 drawings of Black men from my local community. The drawings in by SBP submission depict notable African American men whose recent deaths have impacted the Black community here in Oakland and beyond. I create my drawings in black ink on paper and color them digitally.
