The idea for this book stemmed from a beautiful quote by D.H. Lawrence I read a while back: "We and the cosmos are one." That just rang so true with me, and really got me thinking about how we are all made of the same stuff that stars are made of, and how wonderfully interwoven the universe is. So I came up with this story about a man and his life, and how it's mirrored in the heavens by the stars. This story seemed to fit perfectly with the "Parts of the Whole" theme so I just ran with it. The result is a whirlwind of markers, watercolor, masking fluid, and love. Please enjoy "Light in the Dark"! Also, I'd like to thank The Sketchbook Project for all the wonderful work that they do, and for making opportunities like this possible for artists everywhere.
