The concept of this sketchbook stemmed from the idea of making a book that would push me. I wanted it to be motivational from the start, but it slowly took shape. I allowed myself to be very open, playful and careless, and this also made my work endearingly honest. I really liked the fact that the sketchbook is published in such an open format and lives its life publicly online and in the library, with free access to anyone with internet or who's interested in physically viewing it. Using this to the sketchbook's advantage I tried to make something like a children's book made for adults. It was a very cathartic experience because mostly I was writing for myself, all the while knowing I would eventually let this little book live a life outside of me and hopefully provide inspiration to other people in the same way it helped me inspire myself.
