I was born in Loutraki, a city by the sea in Greece where sunlight is a permanent source of life. Many years ago I moved to Amsterdam, where I live and work now, where the sky is full of surprises, where shadows and light alternate and do not allow you to settle.
I have been trying to find ways to connect my narratives and communicate through forms, images and words. I work with oils, watercolours, ink and charcoal and I like to define space through emptiness and the constant struggle between vulnerability and the desire to embrace oneself and almost hide into the structures of the objects in the same way as the light does.
When I visited Brooklyn during Christmas, I visited the library and I fell in love with the project. I did two drawings each week, I like colour but I decided to just use pencil as the paper in the sketchbook is quite thin.
