“Compelled by Andy Warhol's idea of repetition changing an object into a design, I set out to create a series of conjoined animals; part tongue in cheek, part shock appeal, Siamese Creatures plays to the viewer's sense of aesthetics, provoking and pleasing the eye.
I painted the paired animals using gouache and mono printed each background using Gelli Arts Mini Gelli Plates and countless types of inks and paints.”
Missy Maxwell lives in Olympia, Washington with her fiancé Nic, and Siamese (yes, seriously) cat, Lolita. When she isn’t creating art in her Project Parlor, she can be found enjoying the outdoors with a craft beer in hand.
