my friend claudia signed me up and provided all the materials. all i needed to do was to fill the pages.
i approached the sketchbook as a committed lark, as a liberating opportunity of creative expression. in a couple hours i sketched out all the pages. i sought an arc of continuity despite the apparent whimsy of image.
the watercolor was a challenge to not bleed through from one page into its opposite. only partially successful with that. it meant revisions of image, of placement on the page, and of timing in the color.
the sketchbook is without pretense and without any prior painting experience. i was motivated by the personal connections discovered during the process. it was a project whose purpose was solely my own entertainment.
not a visual artist, i nonetheless welcome any comments. pls skip over pages you do not like. ha.
