Hi, my name is Chelsea. I'm a self taught artist. I'm 35, married and I have 3 kids, two boys 7 and 5 and a girl, who is 15 months old. I see beauty in color all around me and i am very inspired by nature. Trees mostly. So, For this sketchbook, I decided to keep it less personal than my last sketchbook and challenge myself to only do black and white sketches. I took the idea of sketchbook, and did just that, I sketched! My sketchbooks at home are filled with randomness, and so is this one. :) I've been into zentangles lately, which worked with the repeat pattern theme and then i just went for it! I used a pencil and then a fine tip sharpie, and drew a ton of bloody circles! It was very therapeutic really, drawing patterns over and over again. And also killer on myhand! The poem i wrote, Grounded, is about being vulnerable over and over and how hard that can be for us. Trauma takes a tool on us, and it's very hard to keep going. The last sketch is my warrior tree self! Twisted, gnarly and still standing strong. So Please enjoy!
