You never know when or how you'll connect with someone, but the connections are inevitable, and some things seem to be common to almost every connection we make. For me, music (you like that song, too?), color (look at that...and a minute later it changes), time (too much, never enough, remember that?), and place (you were there, too?; I wish I could be there) show up over and over, often in surprising ways.
The songs I picked because I love them and they conjured up an image in my head. It might have been the song overall, or just a single line. Some of the pages took hours of fussing, others were a five minute sketch. Everyone has those songs.
The colorful cityscapes are just that, places I imagine, where people or thoughts might connect, translated onto paper.
And then there are pages of color - books, lines, stamps - that reflect more ways that we connect with one another.
Fabric is my favorite medium, although pens are a handy way to get one's thoughts on paper.
