In '89 I contracted Lyme disease. Little signs that something was not quite right cropped up until 2000 when I started to get noticeably ill. I have now been chronically ill for 18 years yet miracles do happen and I am headed towards remission. Being ill has taught me a lot. It has taught me that helping others is more important the being helped. It has taught me that I am more than aspirations and goals. It has given me great friends and wisdom beyond what I thought I would ever know.
I have always been creative. I was an actress, shoe designer, interior decorator, writer but I never truly embraced that creative side of me. As if being creative wasn't something to be proud of. Silly isn't it? Yet, I am proud. So in this book I got to be me. I got to express myself and let people in on a slice of my life. What fun this has been.
