This sketchbook is a very brief summary about growing up surrounded by certain opinions, hearing certain cemented advices for life - and the kaleidoscope of possibilities that pass by, if you choose to follow other peoples advice rather than your inner voice.
For this sketchbook I made several character drawings using watercolor, markers and colored pens and then cut and ripped everything apart - the original sketchbook included.
From the scraps and snippets I created new characters as they fell into my hands. Mixing everything together, tearing it apart again, glueing it back together.
This approach felt a bit like life. Having the courage to end/leave something that seems to be nice and acceptable, taking parts of it to the next experience, finding out that it's not turning out the way you expected it to be or even better than you expected it to be. Mixing things up not following the paths that have proven to be ok and safe for others or even for yourself in the past. But paths that feel good to you, that excite you, that might look strange to others but strike a chord within you.
