I am an artist and visual arts teacher from Sydney, Australia. My usual medium is acrylic on canvas or board. I approached my sketchbook the same way I would if it were a work in my studio, I layered the paint in a thick manner to try to give it a solid finish using gouache, a medium I do not regularly use. I am influenced by cubism, suprematism, constructivism and 1970s colour field and minimalist painters. I named my sketchbook 'Frank 2' as the two people who have influenced my practice are artist Frank Stella and my father, also named Frank. I am inspired by architecture, design, shape, negative and positive space. I am very excited to be a part of a long tradition of artists who use the sketchbook as a thought process and refined ideas.
