I am a multi-media artist. Archaeology, pre-history and imagination are inspirations for my work. My work is influenced by the work of Henry Moore.. Moore was inspired by the human body, by organic shapes found in nature and by the sculpture of ancient and exotic cultures such as Egypt, Africa and pre-Columbian Mexico. He states, “There are universal shapes to which everyone is subconsciously conditioned and to which they can respond if their conscious control does not shut them off”.
My works are centred, organized, textured, coherent and contained; their resonance makes me feel that my shapes and forms are not my invention: they just seem to appear as if they have come off some kind of very big imaginary shelf.
I was born in Montréal, I live in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. I have a B.A. in communications from Concordia University in Montreal and a B.A. in Fine Arts from Bishop’s University Lennoxville, Quebec
