I chose 'people I wish I knew' theme as I figured the volume of work to fill this would surely increase my skills in portraiture, I am certain it did just that, bending my brain at times trying to capture the personalities and gestures of people we all know, or think we know. To start with I had created a list of people I 'thought' I wished to know but that was merely their iconic persona, not the real person/being they are personally. So half way in I dug deep thinking of people who have made a difference or those who've used their power for greater good. I was counting down the pages, until the last 2 entries where at that stage I wished there were more pages to fill, as I fell in love with more amazing humans.
My passions are somewhat reflected in this book, you may see within the pages, an appreciation of caring people (this world needs as many of those as possible). I plan to focus my art on work showcasing the affinity humans and animals have and how many of us live together in love respect and harmony.
I also thoroughly enjoy using food products to 'art' with, such as turmeric, coffee and redwine mostly and plan to use recycled products as the surface. Its more of a science experiment at the moment and I'm enjoying every moment : )
