My name is Aneira Clark and I am in the process of opening my own online business under the name Love Aneira.
I studied Surface Pattern Design at Swansea Metropolitan University in the UK. I have dabbled a bit in making a career creatively but I've struggled to concentrate full time due to financial limitations and the lack of a creative space. I'm finally in the position to really focus, albeit part time as I still have a full time regular job.
The Sketchbook Project has really motivated me to create a body of work that I'm excited about sharing with the world. In my sketchbook you will find illustrated homonyms which are humorous, romantic and wistful. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
I use a selection of different mediums. There isn't really any rhyme or reason to it. I just like to play around. I tend to start a page by creating a pattern while I mull over what else to draw regarding the homonym in question. This generally guides the colour scheme for the picture. Once I'm pleased with the illustration I think of the narrative for the picture and link it all together.
Once I've set up my website I'm planning on selling some of my favourite homonyms as prints. Please feel free to comment on which pictures are your favourite. I am also planning on writing a children's book based on one of the characters I created. My other interest is textiles so you will eventually find some of my textile work on my website too.
Thank you so much for looking at my sketchbook.
