When I saw the list of themes for volume 14 I was immediately drawn to the "disconnections" theme. I used this as my excuse to switch off from the world and draw whatever I needed to clear my mind - mostly floral and nature-themed images as I found these to be therapeutic amidst the chaos of daily life. The sketchbook has ended up being a mixture of both collected and sporadic images, and upon reflection, each to some extent giving an insight into my state of mind at the time of creating. Some pages are more intricate than others and this has been driven by how much time I could steal away from my day to work on the sketchbook.
Admittedly, I'm not completely content with my sketchbook, but the experience has been invaluable in motivating me to go back to art after more than 6 years. More importantly, it has allowed me to experiment with the mediums I was using and slowly begin formulating my thoughts around the style I want to continue making art in again.
