"Art is very important!" My three year old niece declared the first time we went to an art museum together. We spend a lot of time doodling and having fun in my studio, experimenting with new mediums from crayons to watercolors, exploring our imagination and storytelling. Juno loves to make art and I love her fantastical stories, so I thought it was time to participate in the Sketchbook Project with her. She enjoyed creating her first sketchbook for the 2019 Sketchbook Project. I asked her what the title was a few times. "Juno Paw!" she said every time with cheer. Juno is very excited to send it in. As an artist and her Auntie, I am eager to see what direction her creativity will grow. Here is a story about a couple of fancy bears, a lion with a boo boo, a son who had nightmares, monsters at a dance party, a family of hot dogs and an army of ants just to name a few of her narrated imaginings while she sketched. Enjoy!
