I am a freelance illustrator, writer, and professor of illustration and design.
As a professor, my student's often worried about finding their style. So my goal for this tiny sketchbook project was to create a wordless story about a young artist BEE in search of her visual voice and what she discovered by keeping an even tinier sketchbook.
To create my tiny sketchbook, I used Pigma Micron archival ink pens, number .005 and .01, Faber-Castell Polychromos, Black Cat India Ink, and M. Graham Watercolors, a honey-based paint.
I was inspired by students who often don't understand the value of keeping a sketchbook, no matter how small.
