This little book is partly an homage to Edward Gorey, whom I credit with the original card, "The Bottle", a drawing of a little being inside a bottle. I've been drawing jars and bottles and people in them in my comic strip, The Daily Apostrophe, as well as in my other drawings. Using the tiny sketchbook for this is perfect, as it is about being inside something confining yet enticing. The beings and objects in the bottles/jars on each page are floating. It's a kind of altered state of being. The addiction part is once I started with things and creatures in bottles, I got addicted.
