When my daughter departed for college in 1986, we began a "snail mail" correspondence. Those letters began a communication more clear than we had experiences before the letter writing began. Finding an envelope from her in the (literal) mailbox outside my home brought joy into my life. Envelopes began to show up in my art expressions. As of today, more than 200 images (mainly paintings and collages) with envelopes have shown up in my body of work. "The Envelope Series" has taken on a life of it's on and has wandered far and wide, creating a rich tapestry of meaning and poignancy which now has but a thin thread of connection to its beginning.
