I'm always fascinated with how perfectly life was portrayed in the mid-century era, mostly because that was all a pile of crap. The images from magazine ads tended to display overwhelming emotions of excitement, even if it was a housewife staring down a can of beans. This book was a "scientific" examination of her real life; things that a proper lady would NEVER discuss at bridge club parties!
